Drawgust day 28: Crain family studies from @flanaganfilm’s Haunting of Hill House
#my art#drawgust 2024#the haunting of hill house#steven crain#shirley crain#theo crain#luke crain#nell crain#olivia crain#putting my favorite shows right in my sketchbook like lil stickers#this one took all day in the best way#I was STUNNED at how easily Steve hit the page. Shirley put me in my place. Theo was a blast.#luke made me sad. Nell kicked me five ways to Sunday. and Liv was a heartbreaking finale#drawing these felt very much like watching the show in its own way and I’m quite pleased with the turnout

Drawgust day 2 and 3 spoils. Not thoroughly satisfied with any of the likenesses, but I will cackle forever at my wife’s initial response of “those aren’t your best�� because she somehow thought the first two were supposed to be Liv Hewson and couldn’t find the resemblance.

Drawgust day 21: hey, did you know drawing kissing is hard?
#my art#drawgust 2024#taivan#today was not my finest sketchbook hour but I wound up kinda digging this little thing#it came on the heels of three failed portrait attempts and a bunch of rapid-fire nose studies#so the face that I like it at all is pretty good#did operate under two bits of advice I found on graphite pencil work#1) swap the reference into grayscale#2) draw what you see and not what you THINK you see#I’m learning. biiiit by bit#perhaps tomorrow will be a cleaner approach#*fact that I like it Jesus Christ Siri stop helping me
